The New Gladiator.....

Posted on November 21, 2010

Wondering where Russell Crowe is? Or Joaquin Phoenix? I helped re-design a movie cover for my fiancee's group Master's project. Yes, a movie project for his Master's Degree.... It was pretty hilarious photoshopping various heads/expressions on the characters bodies. The hair is actually Crowe's, while I created a life-like beard. Classmate, Thibault played the power-hungry Commodus.

Busy Month!

Posted on October 31, 2010

October has been a busy, busy month! Taking courses part-time, keeping up with volunteer work with One International as we prepare for our annual Gala event coming up in January, finishing up the re-design of Okanagan Land Co! I have a feeling my trainer is not going to be happy with me... for only attending two strengthening classes! I introduced the Gala event team to Mail Chimp, an online email marketing service which will help get our organizations name out there.

Vacation Signage

Posted on September 8, 2010

I've been meaning to upload this photo I took down in Sayulita, Mexico this past March. These signs were new to the community (never noticed them in previous years) and I love how the graphic angry hand stands out. Sayulita has grown rapidly in size recently, and the village must be dealing with the increases of crime/vandalism

I was recently in Portland for a wedding, and on the road trip to Oregon we stopped through Leavenworth, WA. I haven't been there in YEARS. Growing up in Penticton, BC, our family would drive down to Spokane and stop by the little German village on the way. I forgot how special Leavenworth is...!

Great Read: Introducing HTML5

Posted on August 20, 2010

I highly recommend this book, it’s definitely different in the aspect that it’s written by 2 experts that know what they’re actually talking about. In the past I’ve had a difficult time finding the right informative book on HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc, but after reading online reviews I decided to make the purchase. It covers a lot more and goes into more detail than Jeremy Keith’s, “HTML5 for Web Designers” as well.
